In September I attended a conference, the speaker, Brian Buffini (the CEO of the top realtor coaching company in North America and believes heavily in research, statistics and providing facts for agents to be properly equipped when working with clients)
He said that 2023 has seen the highest number of deals falling apart. Can you guess why?
Agent incompetencies.
Basically, lack of training.
We have the most unskilled realtors in history. This trend isn't just a concern for our clients, it's a threat to the livelihoods of real estate professionals. Especially on the heels of the latest lawsuit with NAR and the new regulations that just passed in Ontario.
So, how can we turn this tide?
Better training
Better communication
Less Ego
There is such a wide range in the level of training provided, expected and done.
If you have come from a brokerage that NEVER provides training or you never attend it, if you are not taking at least 2-3 additional, MODERN courses a year, you are not serving the needs of your clients properly.
Not sure where you should look for training? For starters, being here reading this blog is a step in the right direction. So is my newsletter. Not because I’m trying to push my newsletter, but because I really, really want to improve our industry and I’m always sharing things I’ve learned from my regular training or over the course of my career which has helped me in my business, with my industry reputation and with client care consistency.
